History

The Navan Curling Club has been in existence since 1984 and moved into its new facilities during 1991.

The prime aim of the Curling Club and it's members is to provide good, friendly and knowledgeable NCCP qualified curling instruction to all age groups.

The Curling Club is located in the small community of Navan, Cumberland, Ontario about 20 minutes east of downtown Ottawa and 10 minutes from the heart of Orleans. The Navan club offers curling for almost any age through a variety of programs. Our membership for the 98-99 season saw 386 active members and 99 combined junior program members comprised of 64 Little Rockers and 35 Bantam/Juniors.

The Junior program started with the opening of the new curling facilities in Navan in 1991.  The Little Rock program got under way the following year with the purchase of two sets of Little Rocks.  The Club introduced a Bantam league to bridge the gap between the Little Rock and the Junior programs. For the 1998-99 season Navan added a fourth set of Little Rocks. This was necessary to support the full complement of 64 little Rockers that signed up to make this Navan's best year ever.  Due to the popularity of this fast growing sport it is highly recommended returning curlers sign up early each season. The 98/99 season was the first time we've ever had to turn away some potential future Brier champions.
